Getting Rid of PMS Without Drugs

PMS (Pre-Menstrual Syndrome) is NOT a real disease, although many women would disagree with me. PMS is actually a product of our modern diet, combined with our daily stress, etc.

There are several chemical changes in the blood of a woman that occur a few days prior to the actual menstrual period, or bleeding cycle.  One of these changes has the zinc level going low, while the copper level goes high. Very high copper/zinc ratios can (and do) actually cause schizophrenia and/or depression, it could be said that women slide at least a little towards “crazy” every month.

In some women, these imbalances can be very serious.  Of course, all these changes are individual, depending on the current ratios of copper and zinc, genetic factors, etc.  There are several other changes as the female body gets ready for another cycle of fertility.  There are different symptoms for each woman, although many become irritable at least.  PMS is something that husbands use to explain when the wife gets angry or upset.It’s an “excuse” used at times by some wives as well.

A very simple and inexpensive vitamin/mineral “cure” is available that seems to work for all women. Taking ʚ and magnesium regularly is the simple secret. Unfortunately, this “word” got out, and some MD’s heard about it, and started their patients on large doses of ʚ. MD’s, knowing little about vitamin interaction, called this “ʚ toxicity when different women developed other problems, and ʚ got a bad reputation. ʚ was then written up by some “learned experts” as toxic in large quantities.

All of us who have studied vitamin intractions know the much simpler truth.Taking large doses of any one B vitamin may cause a “deficiency″ in some others.  Thus, if you are going to take large doses of ʚ, you MUST be taking at least a 50 Mg B complex at the same time.All B complex vitamins are needed working together in synergism.)

THIS IS CRITICAL TO AVOID PROBLEMS, AND YOU’LL BE IN BETTER HEALTH AS A RESULT AS WELL.
As for magnesium, there is a built-in body response to too much - Diarrhea. Epsom salts, an old laxative, is magnesium sulphate, and a little goes a long way. It tastes terrible, and using magnesium citrate tablets from a health store is usually easier for most.

There’s a page on my website devoted to a basic vitamin′mineral regimen that helps everybody. I’ve personally used Solgar VM-75 for over 25 years. Since it contains 75 mg of all the B vitamins, it solves the above problem, and probably many other health problems as well.  No woman who has followed my advice on this has ever had a problem with excess B6.

I have no vested interest in Solgar, but I’ve found that it works for most for over 25 years. My recommendations for magnesium and calcium balance are also on that webpage.

How much B6 should you take to avoid PMS? That’s a tough question to answer, as everyone is different. The usual recommendation is to try taking about 200 mg per day at least 10 days prior to the menstrual period and see if you have PMS.  If not, for that period, try cutting down to 100 mg for the next period. It’s up to you to experiment until you find the dosage that’s right for you. You are the best judge of your health. You should be taking the B complex (or the multi ) every day of the month of course, or a good base vitamin/mineral supplement tablet with at least 50 mg of the B vitamins, such as the one recommended on my web page.

If 200 mg doesn’t clear up the PMS completely, try 250 mg, or try taking the 200 for the whole month. It varies with each individual. My wife, when I first met her over 20 years ago had very bad PMS. She started on 200 mg and had no PMS. A month or so later, she got quite twitchy, and remarked “You know if I didn’t know better, I’d think I was having PMS. I’m craving salty foods and feeling bad.”

When I told her that I had cut her down to 100 mg she got very angry at me. She went back up each month, and we found t. A year or so later, she no longer needed the B6, as the VM-75 did it for her. She hasn’t had PMS since. This experience is typical for most women. I hope it helps you.

The herb Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) has always been viewed as a medicinal herb. As the name suggests, folk healers employed it as a cure for fevers. Scientists have evaluated Feverfew, and, though it doesn’t reduce fevers, it was discovered to be an antispasmodic. It helps the body prevent the spasms in small blood vessels that are known to be an immediate cause of migraines. The chief active ingredient has been isolated, and might, someday, lead to a pure extract. Feverfew has also been shown, in clinical studies, to reduce vomiting and nausea, while improving digestion. Other studies have reported:

Another approach would be to sprinkle chopped feverfew leaves on top of marinara sauce. It could be made into pesto, using your favorite nuts.

A Simple Affordable Solution for ADD/ADHD

There’s a new therapy called Neuroliminal Training (NT) .  It works in the same way as the very expensive Neurofeedback (aka EEG biofeedback).  Several volunteer tests over the past 4 years has shown that at least 85-90% of all ADD/ADHD cases can be “solved″ using it for 8 weeks, or less. Successful solution is established in the EEG community as “sitting still in class, concentrating and learning, increasing grade averages, and/or increasing on IQ tests about 15 points.

NFB, or EEG BF has proven for about 40 years to be the most effective solution for all “attention″ problems. However, the mid or low income family simply can’t afford this proven therapy at an average cost of $4000+ per ADHD child.

Panic and anxiety attacks can be lowered in more than one way. Personally I know four treatments for panic and anxiety attacks that are natural and helped me greatly. First, I changed my diet. There are plenty of treatments that are natural and can be used to treat panic and anxiety attacks, but these are the ones that worked in my case. The first changes were made to my diet. I gave up the coffee and I drank herbal tea instead. You can pick any calming tea you prefer, but for me the Java brand worked best.

I also gave up any foods or drinks that had too much sugar in them. That´s because sugar helps trigger the anxiety. Another change in my diet was giving up the junk food and trying to eat healthier. Vegetables and fruits should be part of such a diet.

Because of my disability I can´t walk very fast or jog, but at least I can lift weights. The great part about working out is that it takes the negative energy out and clears you mind. It´s not uncommon to find a solution to a problem while working out.

I found it to be very helpful when I tried exercising simple breathing. A simple breathing exercise is breathing in, saying “I am″, than breathing out and saying “relaxed”. Try doing this 10 times and you will see that you´ll be more calm.

Talking with friends and family is another step that needs to be taken. It´s nothing to be embarrassed about. My first talk was with my wife, but other friends of mine had the same problems as I did. A lot of people suffer from this problem and it´s so much easier to talk with others.

There is one problem that remains though, and that´s the fear. The fear is there because you keep thinking about the attack happening again. Natural treatments help in this case, but they will not fix the problem for good.
